reducing noise from bypass humidifier

Had a Lennox bypass humidifier installed with my new HVAC system. When the humidifier is running you can hear the water going through the pipe inside the unit. The noise then resonates through the duct that goes to the return air duct and can be heard upstairs through the return air register. Any ideas as to how to reduce this noise? Thought of replacing the saddle valve for the supply line with a ball valve where I could control the water flow better. The way I understand it you only need enough water flow to keep pads moist when unit is running.
