Buderus GB142

Does anyone have this boiler (Buderus GB142/30)...would you recommend it? I'd also like to know if the unit is vented out a side wall... how high up off the ground do you have the vent and can you detect any odors from it when you're near the vent in the yard...and does the side venting cause any staining on the house siding? Thanks in advance for your insights.....

Hi Wally,

I've been doing a bit of research and thought either the Buderus or a Viessmann boiler would be appropriate for my application. I'm not that familiar with HVAC though.... thus my looking for other's input. This would be for new construction in Massachusetts.... hot water baseboard heat... I've got about 92,000 btu input. I like the efficiencies of these condensing boilers... I was first going to build a chimney with the house but for cost reasons have nixxed that feature...so if I could go with a direct vented furnace, that would be good...from my first pricings... I think the viessmann unit is a bit less $$ than the buderus.... but not sure if one unit offers advantages over the other. Thanks for any input or suggestions.
