I would like some advice on certain quotes I have received as I simply do not know enough to make an informed decision about whether I am getting a good deal or not. This is to replace my second story unit. Upstairs is about 1100 sq ft. I live in Austin, TX and obviously the Texas heat is pretty strong down here but I don't know about whether the features are worth the extra costs (all prices below are after all rebates, etc).
Option 1
Carrier 15 SEER
Condensor - 25HNB524A-3
Evap Coil - FX4DNF025T
$5200

Option 2
Carrier 18 SEER
Condensor - 25HNB924A-3
Evap Coil - FE4ANF003T
$7300

Any help or suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

Forget both options.

Go with system below. I would add the staged pre wired 9 KW heat strip and Carrier Edge Thermidistat.
