I am renovating a 2.5 story semi-detached home in toronto. We have gutted the home to the studs. We are replacing all ducts, furnace, a/c, hrv and humidifier. I received a quote through my contractor. Keep in mind I pay 15% on top of any subs he arranges. They call it profit and coordination. The idea is they suggest they get a contractor discount on most things up to 30%. We are open to get our own subs and then no profit and coordination charges apply. We have to do a lot more leg work and coordination ourselves however.

Our quote is as follows:

Payne 80,000 btuh 2 stage 96% PG96VAT
Payne 2.5 ton 13 seer ac unit
Lennox hrv-200
Aprile air humidifier
All new ducts.

17800 plus tax

Is this reasonable? I feel like I am not getting a contractors discount. They also broke it down when I asked them as 3500 for furnace and install 3000 for ac and install 2000 for hrv and install 350 for humid and install and then 8950 for the ductwork.

Any reason why you might be inclined to question this quote?
