 o
Thermostat problem

Posted by slso8 (My Page) on

I have a (Simple Comfort 2201) digital/non-programmable thermostat.
When I set the desired temp 1 degree below the ambient temp, the fan activates, but not the compressor, even an hour later still no compressor.
When I reduce the desired temp 2 or more degress, the compressor then activates.
It's as if the fan reads 1 degree but the compressor only reads a variance of 2 or more degress.
Does this sound like a new Thermostat is needed ?
THANKS

RE: Thermostat problem

try tighting up on the wires, have you tried to jump the wires directly with the 1 degree diff?
