Oil furnace fresh air

I have an attached two car garage to my house, measures about 24' x 22'. In one corner there is a framed small room with a steel door that holds my oil furnace, roughly 6'x6'. There is a fresh air vent through the outside wall for the furnace, but there is also one on the inside wall which takes air from the garage itself. I'm looking to insulate that room better to save on oil, so can I close up the outside wall air vent and just use the inside wall one? Or would that create a carbon monoxide situation or inadequate fresh air draft? There is no entrance into the house from the garage.

Thanks for any help,
Ryan
