Need help matching thermostat

I have a quotation from a Bryant dealer who wants to put a. 355CAV060120 Evolution 95S 3 stage furnace matched to a Honeywell Pro-4000 controller. When asked about this combo, the reply is "Bryant/Carrier furnaces do not require a 2 stage thermostat. The 2 stage logistics are already in the furnace. W2 and W3 wires can be installed in a 2 or 3 stage stat but not necessary." He also wants to match it to the 114ANA060 A/C unit with TXV coil.
My questions are 1. will this thermostat work with the three stage furnace and 2, is this A/C unit truly a 15 SEER unit?

Find another bryant dealer.
He should recommend the Bryant Evolution Controller with that furnace.

Remember all dealers are different even if they sell the same equipment.

himo

what area of country do you live?

this is Bryant's top of line three stg Evolution gas furnace basically identical to Carrier's Infinity 58MVC model.

The correct and best stat/controller is the Evolution controller. I would not even consider anything else.

AC condenser appears to be low end Legacy RNC series. The evap coil will determine the SEER rating. I would at least move up to the Legacy series or better yet the Preferred 15 model that is fully supported by the Evolution controller.

IMO

You are really crippling the comfort of that nice furnace with the bottom of the barrel stat. Or find a dealer that's a little sharper!

Considering a stat that will not come close to making full use of the systems capabilities would be like pricing a monster truck with street tires. Wow a Ferarri with the model T tire and wheel option. The minimum should be a VisionPro IAQ and the best would be the Evolution stat. In my opinion.
