Anyone know anything about Whirlpool Heatpumps?

I need to replace my entire system and my wife has a friend that does A/C. He said he will do the job for what I think is a good price (5400 for everything installed). I will be getting a 3 ton unit. He said he can get either a 15 seer westinghouse, or a 15 seer whirlpool. I have read that the westinghouse is a quality unit, but I have not found much about the Whirlpool. Any ideas on which would be a better way to go? I know whirlpool makes quality products I just didn't even know they dealt with A/C stuff.

Westinghouse is Nordyne, Whirlpool, looks like they are straight from my city of Jacksonville but I've never seen one installed yet. If I had to choose between the two I go with the Westinghouse with the variable speed ECM fan motor.

Whirlpool is made by Allied Air, the Lennox division that makes Armstrong & Ducane among others. Plants are in South Carolina. I'd go with the Westinghouse too. Oh, I did, but it says Tappan on it. Same thing.
