Becket oil burner AFG

When the burner start, sometime does not fire instantly. It looks like the oil pump is spraying oil and the ignitor is delayed by 1 second. What cause this condition?

Electrodes not adjusted properly, weak ignitor, air settings out of adjustment, dirty nozzle.

The newer Becketts have a delay on the fuel pump until the motor is up to full speed and draft is established.

Too delayed ignition can result in an explosion in the burner chamber.

"If" it gives any buff-back, better get it serviced as it could get much worse!
