In the process of upgrading a home built on a slab with failed in-floor radiant heat. The owner (a friend of mine) absolutely detests the convective baseboards that are prevalent around here, saying they are noisy when they expand and are unsightly (I tend to agree). He wants to look into radiant baseboard panels, like the ones manufactured by Runtal, et al. They certainly look more appealing than the huge convective baseboards. Has anyone actually used these, and can vouch for their performance? Installation appears to be just as straightforward as with "regular" baseboards. How large of a cost difference should he expect?
