Overflow circuit not working

I tried to manually push the overflow switch open and the AC does not turn off. I check the circuit and looks good but for some reason I still getting 24VDC at the thermostat key pad while holding the overflow switch open.
Could the little board (relay) be bad

Nope. The switch is old school,it's either open ( if pump fails) or closed ( when water level is normal in tank). You either have a defective switch or it has been by-passed.
