Furnace dehumidier problem

Posted by shakushinnen (shinnen@rogers.com) on

Hi all,
I have determined that the problem with my dehumidier malfunction is that the water is not going through the solenoid which is connected to the humidistat. The solenoid is getting power (and water), and the humidistat seems to be kicking in, but no water flow. Can these solenoids be cleaned/repaired, or is a new one the best fix?
Thanks,
...... john

You're dealing with a device that has water and electricity, and you're unfamiliar with it.

The problem is more likely related to calcium and mineral build up than to an electrical problem with the solenoid.

Can it be disassembled and cleaned with CLR?

Hi snidely,
Yes.... yes I am. Do you know if it can be cleaned or repaired?
Hi SR,
I don't know how to open it. Do you?
Thanks,

Do a Google search of your humidifier model. You may find the owner's manual. It should explain how to clean it.
