Error codes usually means it is time to call an HVAC contractor for service.

Crap - now AC is out again after my wife noticed it was short cycling on/off after just 60 seconds in between.

We cut the main AC power on the house panel.

Installer had came out Monday to just top off freon the first time we noticed the codes. Apparently he's misdiagnosed the problem & now they are sending their resident Trane specific tech to come out.

I hope this hasn't caused any permanent damage to the outdoor Heat Pump unit.

Permanent damage to the unit shouldn't be a concern. That system has many safety nets built in to prevent that. You should be more concerned about getting someone out there that knows about that system. Without a decent amount of knowledge on that particular system it can be complicated to fix.

Yeah - this was the same company that installed it but they sent a general maintenance guy cause I was on them that morning to fit me in their already filled schedule.

So they must've felt the pressure just to send some1 & didn't communicate to me that it may require further diagnosis.

Having been on here & HVACTalk, I should've known better than to rush things on these complex machinery.

Having said that, the company should have known better too. Crossing my fingers.
