compressor won't start

When thermostat asks for cooling condenser fan starts but compressor makes an effort by moving what seems like a couple turns but then trips its over load. I tested voltage after relay to check contacts but no voltage loss (240 volts).
I checked start capacitor by meter (35 mfd) and substitution but no help. I heard of thinks like sludge block? System has been working fine til now.

Burnt,Shorted or broken wires;

burnt terminal connectors causing very high resistance;

Internal Overload Open;

shorted or grounded compressor;

mechanically stuck compressor, & more.

In my case, a simple situation caused it - tripped float switch.

And why would you go to all the trouble of wiring just the compressor to a float switch instead of the entire condenser?
