Replacement thermostat

Recently I posted about a problem with my heat pump in cooling mode and the suggestion was that it might be the thermostat. Now I am convinced that is the problem. The slider for Cool-Off-Heat-EM operates two sliding switches. The Cool does not make consistent contact. Robertshaw 9620 by the Maple Chase Company.
The thermostat is as clean inside as new one- located upstairs in my house for about 10 years.
I do not need programmable. What do you suggest for a replacement?

Can the defective switch be cleaned with something like WD-40 or De-Oxit?

That's what I would try first.
