Hi. Our house has a boxy old gas furnace from 1982 (hot water radiator heat) and a big old gas water heater that is pushing 10-12 years. Both are soon to go. I have seen so many cool new boilers, some that even do double duty producing hot water and storing it in an insulted tank. Trouble is I have only seen these on TV. Before I go shopping I'd like to educate myself. Does anyone here have any tips, experience, pointers...? For a house under 2000 square feet, what should I expect to pay for somethings like this? Though it will be tucked away in the basement, part of me is actually excited to have a smaller and yet more efficient system taking up less space in the basement.
