I replaced 1 of my ACs in 2012 with a Trane XR15+furnance. My favorite AC service guys did it (great job, sealed, new ducts, returns, registers).

Now, I get home from Afghanistan, and I'm ready to replace the 2nd AC ... but my service folks said they stopped using Trane. I didn't get into the weeds, but he stated that Trane made some bad product decisions and they could no longer support selling inferior products. They have since recommended Carrier brand.

Anyone know what the heck is going on with Trane? I'll do what my service guys tell me (20yr customer), but I'm curious, what problems will I face with 2 different manufacturered systems? They are not currently zoned (single system upstairs, single system downstairs). Should I take this as "well, if they sell it, they'll fix it" attitude?
