Not that familiar with the new XL824 and the Honeywell Model above will do same as 950 and should be less expensive.

The main features you should be looking at are the following:

Dual fuel capability
Furnace staging controlled by thermostat based on demand
Independent dehumidify on demand for AC cooling
Accessory equipment control like humidifier
Temperature lockouts

How many wires does the Honeywell THX9321R5030 Prestige 2.0 HD require? Does it provide the ability to access it via an iphone?
