New Furnace

Can you bear with a newbie? It is my first furnace as the old one came with the house in MA. This is 1 floor to be heated with forced air and about 1000sq ft with all the old ductwork in place. The old furnace, in the basement, is just inefficient.

I had an estimate for a Bryant 925 S for $4300 to include "wiring and venting", "all gas piping" as well as a C0 detector installed.

The estimate mentions nothing about a warranty (I notice previous posters mention this about a new furnace so I was surprised it wasn't listed on this estimate).

Another estimate came in lower (for a Carrier) but I have no idea what a fair price would be to know if one is too low or the other too high.

If the old furnace runs with the existing venting (which looks fine) what venting must still be done?

Is this a fair estimate?
