| Our upstairs air conditioning unit is in our basement and sits on the concrete slap. The return air duct connects to the bottom. However the bottom has a small gap where it meets the concrete and air is getting sucked in through there all around the edges. Should I caulk around this with silicone? Pictures with notes... |

| I would also keep a close eye on that tape that is on the ducts as it will eventually loosen up and leak if it isn't mastic tape. I would use a brush on mastic and cheap brush or use mastic tape to replace it. Matrix trap pure is harder to find but from what I have heard it seems to work well. Any other leaks that you attack with caulk and a f oam caulk combo will really pay off. |
