Central Air Conditioning Question

We have a return vent that needs a 6 x 14 x 1 filter. I am having so much trouble finding this size and the custom ones are ridiculously expensive.

I am thinking about using the "cut-to-size" but I need a frame around it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use for a frame.
