Furnace location in basement

Our architect recommends having the furnace in a central location as he stated that this is best for air flow. This makes sense however we would like to consider putting it in the corner of the back of the house in order to finish the basement with the best distribution. Has anyone had any experience with this? Can we expect a significant reduction of airflow towards the front of the house?

How many feet are you planning to move the furnace? How large is the house and how many floors? It should not be a problem as long as the main duct is sized correctly.

The HVAC plan is not completed yet so this is the best time to make such a change. The house is 3300 sq feet. I have attached a pic of our proposed plan.
