First, a 4-Ton may be larger than your home requires in Chicago.

2nd, there should always be a load-calc run when replacing systems with duct systems thoroughly checked.

A smaller A/C will function more efficiently with the duct system, etc., you can do many things to reduce the heat-gain of your home.

Your duct system & Return Air filter area sizing may not handle 4-Ton well...
Use them when you do the calc.

I decided to go with the Carrier Infinity system package 2 which is the 98% furnance+ A/C, got the price down by $1K with newer Merv15 Infinity air purifier added to the system. With all the price breaks etc. I will be paying about 11.5K

Install on Tuesday, will post later in the week to tell you how the system works

If you are getting the 100 K model furnace, then you are oversized as I mentioned. Does not matter to me. It will only hurt you in the pocketbook, both upfront and operational...
