My PC locked-up & I could not finish my last post.

A 1.5-Ton or 2-Ton Goodman are both 23' wide both ways, so they will work & are very good units.

If that Goodman is as good as the Amana I'm getting rid of, you will be a lot better off adding a gate -- even a path. Just saying from a homeowner who has taken it in the shorts with Amana.

I have been an HVAC Tech since before the mid-1970's...also a Contractor.

Amana is good equipment; the install & setup airflow & duct system may well have been screwed-up!

Any equipment will fail in many ways if it is not installed properly...

Let's NOT bash Equipment Brands.

Thanks for the load calculator! :) We'll get busy figuring it out. Our house is about 1900 s.f. in San Diego, so we'd use the a/c sporadically. It's usually a steady 72-80 degrees but we get weather systems in the summer that push the temps into the high 90s/low 100s.

What size in tons (outside condenser) are you replacing? Probably a 2 1/2 ton?

I'm not just bashing the equipment. I also think nothing good of the warranty repairs, the customer service or the value of any warranty on the Amana. Even with the very best of equipment, you can have problems. Problems are where those who stand behind their products and really care about quality and those who just sell and leave you high and dry show their true colors. That's important too.
