Central AC Recs?

Posted by rosewest (My Page) on

We'll be purchasing a central air conditioner for our newly constructed home. It's 2 story and total 3720 square feet---about equal square footage on each floor. Furnace is a Trane---we'll be adding the AC after construction when we move in. Also will be looking to add an air filter as well. Any recommendations?? Thanks in advance for your help!

One system for each floor?

Your location?

Natural gas service will be available to home?

Well, we weren't planning on a separate system for each floor. The home does have the ductwork, is plumbed for AC, and has a concrete pad for the unit outside the garage. We are outside of Portland OR (in Boring OR!). And yes, natural gas service is available to the home----we have a gas furnace, stove, and water heater as well...

If it is not too late I recommend separate systems for heating and cooling for each floor. It is difficult to maintain even temperatures thoughout a 3720 square foot house with one system.

Where will the furnace be located?
