My current system is a ~15 year old 10 seer package unit on the roof.
Based on my experience of uneven heat and cool in different rooms and comments from 2 contractors nothing about the old system is right.
I am looking at replacing it with a high efficiency 4 ton 16 SEER split unit, with a 95% furnace. both should be 2 stage.
The house is ~1700 sq feet single story. Local temps pat 2 weeks have hit close to 120.
I have 3 quotes:
Carrier split system $20,900 17 SEER
American Standard split system 16 SEER $12,379
Carrier Infinity split system ~16 SEER $15,000

I do not have details on component parts yet.
Any help on deciding which way to go and weather pricing is in the ball park or not. They will all install new ducting.
