I would like your advise on Central Air Estimates.

Background - Split level home around 1800 Sq Foot in Northern Jersey with Gas Radiator Heat. Needs new duct work.

Dealer 1 - Performed Manual J and gave 3 estimates.

Good - 24ABB336 / FB4CNF042 13.5 SEER 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty $12,663

Better - 24ANB636 / FV4CNB003 16 SEER 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty $13,655

Best - 24ANB736 / FE4ANB005 17 SEER 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty $14,500 including $500 rebate

Dealer 2 - Performed Manual J and suggested 3.5 Ton AC, he however cannot do the job till Fall so I am not considering him.

Dealer 3 - Did not perform Manual J and suggested 4 Tons AC. The price was lowest $12000 for 13 SEER AC.

Our AC usage is around 2-3 months in a year so do not want to spend crazy amount of money. What do you think of the good option & better option above? It seems for the better option the vendor is pairing Infinity condenser with Performance coil. Is this good?
