Furnace age

I have looked everywhere to find the age of my furnace. I have googled the serial number, and how to find the age, but still I am stumped by my cereal number. The brand is Bryant and the serial number is 381283g02. Home was built in 1976. I am thinking the unit is original. Thanks for your help!

Are you sure the brand is Bryant and the serial number is correct? It doesn't follow the data codes used by Bryant.

The serial is correct. It has "Bryant" logos all over it. The photo shows the metal plate with some information on it. I apologize about the bad picture quality.

Contact Bryant/Carrier. If it's original to the house, they may well have used different serial numbers in the 1970s.

Tried that. I was told that is not one of their serial numbers. I am very confused.
