I had new HVAC units installed last year, and the company provided Honeywell FC40R1029 20x30x5 Merv 10 filters. Its about time to replace them and I wondered how the generic filters compared with the Honeywells. I have highly allergic kids and was looking at a comparable Merv 13 filter from Oxyclean (on Amazon) that was less expensive than replacing the original filters. Any thoughts or opinions about the generics?
