Hot Downstairs, cool Upstairs

Greetings,

I seem to have the opposite issue that many have - my downstairs is not getting cooled effectively, but my upstairs is plenty cold. I have central air, and it always seems to be on but little airflow is coming out - is there something in my system that may be causing this?

HVAC system should be checked out including ductwork system.

Where is air handler or furnace located?

Size of home and each zone.

Location?

Same situation in heating mode except hot upstairs, cool downstairs?

You possibly could have an improperly designed duct system. A quick band-aid type fix would be a duct booster, but it might also amplify any potential leakage or blockage problems.

Or maybe you don't have enough returns in your downstairs. I had a similar problem in my 1st floor living room until adding two extra returns. Now way more comfy.
