Coolant leak in relatively new system? Really?

We had a York system installed in an addition less than 3 years ago. We were just told that there is a leak at the outdoor coil and it needs to be replaced. The part is under warranty but not the labor.

So we have two questions.

First, does seem unusual to have such a leak in a 3-year old system?

Second, we paid $95 for the first service call. They replaced the coolant for $145 and told us to set up a leak inspection. Today, we paid another $175 for the leak assessment and were told that the labor to install the new coil would be $825 plus the cost for the added coolant. Do these charges seem reasonable?

Seeking some wisdom...
