Should I replace my central A/C unit or fix it?

We have a Rheem central A/C. The condenser fan, I believe it is called, stopped working. Unit will be 11 years old this year. Should I fix it or buy a new unit? There is a big difference in price fixing vs replacing. But how long will a 11 year old unit last before it HAS to be replaced?

Condenser fan? Are you speaking about motor? Be specific about the repair needed. Have you been given a price? I consider this a relatively minor repair and if condenser has a good working history, I would go ahead and make the repair. Now if there are other issues, that's an entirely different matter.

It was the condenser fan motor. Plus needed freon added. $650 total

They need to locate the source of the refrigerant leak, if it's the evap coil & can't be fixed U have a problem.

Replace condenser fan motor with an identical motor in all respects & mounted in the exact same position.

Ridiculous pricing...

And u Darrell is correct...gas n go is so unprofessional....leak should be located and it should be determined if repair can be made.
