How do you heat?

I have had an Amana 3T AC for 12 years. I have no problems at all.

Always my train of thought if heating a boiler with anything other than nat gas.

But that being the case, then Bryant and I would add the best matching FX or FV air handler over model you were quoted. You might consider moving up to the 126 model condenser.

A 3 ton condenser for a 2500 sq. ft. 1960's house seems a little small. Are you including the basement in the total area? What is the breakdown of the first and second floors? Do you know the insulation values of the exterior walls and attic?

They are all entry level systems from each manufacturer. Make your decision based on the installer and your comfort level with them, their knowledge, and the quality of their work - more important than manufacturer.

For skin

You are mistaken. The Bryant is their Preferred series and definitely mid level, not entry or base models. Quality condenser over the other quotes.

Tiger - correct, as usual! The 123A is the next step up in their range. The FB4 is entry level though. FV4 would be worth the upgrade, as you suggest, above.
