Seems like an acceptable solution

This is just a wall mounted version of a single package heating unit--not unlike portable heaters. Biggest drawback is likely to be operating noise from fan. If using a heat pump, a ductless minisplit system would be more efficient and quieter. Would cost more so that is likely to be decision factor. Pricing varies greatly with efficiency and brand.

A remote control thermostat is also a plus if putting out this much heat at one source( no ducts). If thermostat too close to heat source, temperature accuracy and stability poor.

Thanks for your reply and addressing my questions. I am concerned about fan noise so that would definitely be a drawback for me. I don't know what you mean by the ductless minisplit system - could you elaborate?

For clarification, the rest of existing house will remain baseboard forced hot water heat. The LR would also still be forced hot water from the same Buderus boiler. (The addition will be radiant floor heat)

Thanks in advance for any further information from others as well. Would the old standard radiator be an option?

Someone on the kitchen forum suggested radiant floor heat - installed from the ceiling below. Does anyone have a thought about that? Is it efficient and effective? I wonder how costly that would be?

Hydroair was suggested but unfortunately the only ducts from AC for the room are at the top of the vaulted ceiling. So that would not work.

wonder if this may be an option for you. I was looking into these for myself but just starting out and really don't have any inside info.

I currently have big steam radiators but a small house and I think these would work for me.
