whole house fan for open beam ceiling

Greetings!

I hope some of you nice folks might offer a solution for cooling a big house with an open beam ceiling. There are actually 3 levels for approx. 35,000 cubic feet. The house is hotter than blue blazes year round from about 10am onward. We are thinking of a whole house fan, but there is no attic. It's an open beam ceiling. Please see the attached photo. I appreciate any suggestions, even those outside the box! Aloha. Kat

Will this work for you?

Don't forget that you need make-up air!

If it is really as hot as you indicate, and the temperature is much lower outside, the stack effect should passively cool quite effectively if you make enough openings at the top and bottom.
