I am not sure about your detail question regarding Unico ventilation system, but I have personal experience about the Unico system running times.

We have a 3 ton unit with a corresponding Unico system for a 3rd floor and 2nd floor--approximately 1400 square feet. We also have 21 vents and keep the thermostat at 80 during the day and 74 at night. We also have a stucco home with no wall insulation, but new insulation and air sealing in the 3rd floor (former attic). I also have 30 original double hung, single pane wavy glass windows. Finally, I have no AC on the first floor and rely on the Unico system on 2nd and 3rd floor to cool the 1st floor.

Our system runs pretty much from mid afternoon until bedtime--11:00pm with the occasional overnight work to maintain temperature. The installer and neighbors who have the system in their old homes report the same running time. Based on my experience it appears normal. Moreover, my cooling bills in the summer to run this system are still cheaper compared to heating my house in winter and neighbors with conventional AC systems. Finally,I believe I have read on this board that longer running times are better for the life of the unit the short cycling the system with constant on and offs. However, I am not an expert, so someone else will need to confirm that.
