Honeywell thermostat RTH2410B1001

I have a Honeywell thermostat RTH2410B1001 that I am trying to install. I don't have a O or B wire coming to my thermostat and hence I believe I have no heat pump. There is a jumper JP2 in the thermostat which according to the manual should be set in either O or B position depending upon if I have connected the O or B wire to the O/B wire. Since I have no heat pump should I remove it completely or leave it in the factory default position?
