Hi--Our builder is installing a Carrier 24ABA 348 Air Conditioning System...I was not able to find this system on the Carrier website. I think it is a builder model. We are planning on building a 4000 SQ foot house with 3 zones.

Does anyone have any insight into this system???

Thanks

RE: Carrier 24ABA Air Conditioner

I believe that is an older model (no longer made) and the new model is 24ABB348. It is a builder grade model, lacks compressor protection of high/low pressure switches, and not much coil protection. There is some room for upgrade here, and it's worth looking into the Comfort and Performance series units. What are the complete model numbers of all equipment being installed? Now is the time to make sure the ductwork is properly sized to avoid comfort and noise issues down the road (when it is more costly and difficult to repair). Zoning a 4 ton single-stage system needs to be done properly for it to work well.
