Aprilaire 2210 or Trane Perfect Fit 5' Media Filter?

Hi All,

Thanks for all of your help thus far! One last question, do you prefer the Aprilaire 2210 or Trane Perfect Fit 5" media filter?
Specifically, either of these would be used in a new 4-ton Trane XL20i heat pump (4TWZ0048A1) / Trane Hyperion 8 air handler (TAM8A0C48V41) setup with plenty of supply (3 fourteen inch pre-filtered (1") returns according to the manual-J).
It looks like the Trane replacement media are significantly more expensive and more difficult to install, but might there be a benefit to their use (in a new Trane system) over Aprilaire's?

Thank you, Djyas

Trane Perfect Fit filter replacement more difficult to install?

You will have to explain that to me. I disagree.

I know the Perfect Fit cabinet fits to a Trane furnace like a glove should fit a hand-tight and neat. Not certain about the new Tam air handler but suspect it is same.

OEM filters from Trane are pricey. Generics are available at filter supply houses substantially less expensive and that is what I use. Variety of MERV ratings available.

IMO
