Trane xb13 cover removal for cleaning

I am trying to clean my trane xb13 series ac units and I can't seem to figure out how to remove the hailguard side panels. Has anyone done is or does anyone have any tips for removing? A lot of people say this is not necessary but my unit is very dirty with cotton and I don't think an inside out spray job is going to suffice. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
