Good brands for HRV systems?

Hi there,

We live in a tight, new construction house, and we really need to bring in some fresh air with an HRV system. We are gathering some quotes, and the system brands range. So far, contractors have mentioned FanTech, Renewaire, Honeywell and Zehnder. Any suggestions on good brands? it is hard to compare apples to apples and to know which brands are reliable.

If your home already has a forced air heating and cooling system I would suggest first looking at an HRV of the same brand as it may easily integrate with a existing system and its thermostat.

Another brand you can look at is Ã¢ÂÂGreentekÃ¢ÂÂ (linked below). What I liked about it was that it appears to be very well built with very quiet dynamically balanced ball bearing motors that were made in Germany.
