I had heard about Carrier dropping the labor warranty support. I asked my Carrier HVAC dealer about this during the last maintenance check up. He confirmed what you stated. You have to get the warranty through a third party and it is more expensive. My dealer has also decided to drop the labor warranty coverage.

I am not one for extended warranties, but the Greenspeed parts are expensive. Get some quotes.

I was even told that Carrier no longer offers extended labor agreements. Haven't decided on my next step yet. One dealer said I would have to go through either a separate dealer or insurance company. Although I played one dealer's quote off another a got labor extended to a second year.

Thanks for confirming this... can you get quotes from other dealers that did not install the unit? Not sure how this would work. Thanks again!
