Cast Iron baseboards

I am a first time home-buyer and I have an interesting problem with my cast iron baseboard heaters.

I have a two story house. The heating is only one zone.

The only room that gets hot in the upstairs bedroom. Two other baseboards get mildly warm and the rest are cold.

I have a suspicion that it is a water flow issue; however, I went to the next room to bleed the line, the water came out in a solid stream.

I have found one valve downstairs that reads open and close. It was open.

I have yet to check the rest of the baseboards.

I'm hoping someone can help me troubleshoot this issue.

Thank you in advance.

What you can try is turning off all the baseboards but one - see if it heats. Then repeat with the others.

This will tell you that water is at least circulating in those radiators.

You may need to bleed more than one location to get all the air out.

Like each high point in the system.

Two pipe systems need to be bled at every high spot.

Single pipe systems can get away with one bleeder, sometimes.
