New Build - HVAC ?

Posted by buzzyng (My Page) on

Am starting to get bids for the hvac and have a couple questions for the forum:

The house is approx 3650 sq ft rambler. They all have the regular items for ducting, venting, air intake, fans, etc but they differ on the brand and price.

All quotes for heatpump

1 - armstrong (13seer) - $11k

2 - trane xb13 (14.5 seer) - $12.8k

3 - carrier (14 seer) - $14k

Can anyone validate these are in the ballpark or do I have some negotiating room?

Should I look to upgrade to a better model as these seem entry level looking at the manufacturers websites?

All would be a great start to offering you some help.

You can just about bet that your GC and his HVAC dealer will take care of themselves b4 they take care of you since this is new construction.

RE: New Build - HVAC ?

No GC as I'm an OB

I will get part numbers as they weren't listed.

One listed a filter cabinet space and the other two didn't.

One listed a 20kw heat strip, the others didn't

Thermostat is Vision Pro
