We just moved to a new place and the heating unit is right across from my bedroom door. It might just be me being use to outdoor units but it is VERY Loud. If I close my door it helps the noise level somewhat but it still gets on my nerves, and we have cats who hate my door being closed. I found that hanging a curtain just outside the door helps but just not enough.

Does anyone know anything I can hang outside my door to reduce the noise and be able to keep the door open?

By the way we are renting the place.
