Planning to replace existing furnace and AC. Existing ductwork will be reused. Furnace is in basement with easy access. Contractor provided 2 bids.
1) Bryant 986T 96% 2 stage variable speed 80,000 Btu with Bryant 116B single stage 3 ton AC, 5 year labor warranty plus Bryant 10 year parts warranty - $9300.
2) Same furnace with Bryant 187B 2 stage 3 ton AC, Bryant Connex thermostat, new humidifier, 10 year labor warranty - $11,300.
This is in the Columbus, OH area. Would appreciate opinion from those in the know, how do the prices look? Thank you.

You need a filter box cabinet. Evolution controller included-should be.

    New lineset included? Should be.

High end furnace, low end condenser, at least go to the mid series, preferred model.

    What Mdl evap coil?

No high than 10 K. Any rebates included?

    Post back.

    IMO

Is the 10 year labor warranty from Bryant? It should be at these prices.

Don't spend money on a humidifier unless you really need it.

Carrier is the same equipment if you are interested in getting additional bids. How large is your house? You want the equipment properly sized.

Thanks for the replies. Filter box cabinet included.Evolution controller included on option 2. New lineset included. A 126B condenser would add $300 to option 1. Don't know coil model other than it's Bryant.Option 2 eligible for $400 rebate so end price would be $10900.

Don't know if labor warranty is Bryant or contractor. Only reason new humidifier was included in option 2 was uncertain if older Aprilaire would operate correctly with Evolution controller. I knew Carrier was same parent company and plan to price comparable system through Carrier dealer. House is 2000 sq ft ranch with full unfinished basement. He did a load calc finding current system was properly sized.
