Heat Pump Works but Fan Won't Shut Off

The fan is running constantly. The air being circulated is warm sometimes, cold others. The temp inside the house is being maintained, but the fan just won't shut off unless I lower the temp. When I raise the temp again, the heat comes back on and satisfies, but the fan keeps running. I've checked all the thermostat settings and everything is set up correctly. Any ideas, or time to call for service?

It's probibly either colder than the pump is desighned to operate in or the pump hasn't been able to recover from a frost up. Switch to aux/emerg heat and see it that helps. If not,call your service man. If yes,leave it on aux until sun defrosts coil then switch back to normal heat. Technicaly,it shouldn't do that but many do it anyhow. If it becomes a presistant problem,stay on emergence heat until this ice spell is passed and hvac contractors catch up.

Sincerest thanks, Klem. It's been around 32 degrees today, but it was 50, when my wife first noticed this several days ago. Service time, I guess. Can anyone service, or does it have to be a RUUD dealer (Ruud HP, obviously)?
