Hi, it's my first post.

I've just paid $1226 to replace two motors (main blower and inducer) in a 12-years old Gordon furnace. Does the price look right? I saw one motor not functioning with my own eyes... As for the second one - I'm suspicious. What's the probability that two motors break in one day?

They suggested to replace everything - furnace, coil, a/c compressor, a/c refrigerant, thermostat, all pipes. Options are:

Carrier Infinity 80 - $15,800
Carrier Comfort 80 Furnace + Performance A/C - $14,500

Prices include hardware, labor, 10 year warranty, but still seem too high.

Is it because of unusually cold winter? It looks to me they just ride this wave while it lasts
