 o
get furnace estimate before home renovation?

The two biggest sources of cold air infiltration are going to be fixed in a planned renovation. Basically, insulating one wall and replacing another completely.

The house has never had a furnace, so we'd need that and some ductwork.

Can the recommended heating-needs analysis be done based partly on written plans, or should it wait until all the renovations are done?

RE: get furnace estimate before home renovation?

The HVAC contractor would need to know the insulation values of the exterior walls and attic, and the size and type of all windows. It is the same method of calculation as new construction.
