My furnace intake pipe froze New Year's Eve and I awakened to a cold house. What a start to the year!
Upon inspection I found the intake is 15" above the exhaust and thus draws in the moist exhaust gases. As pictured, the tall pipe is the intake and the short downward-facing pipe is the exhaust. Since I'm new to this condo unit, I suspect someone in the past removed these and switched them upon replacement. Can anyone confirm this is likely the case?

If so, I need to swap, but the short exhaust elbow is cemented to the 3" pipe. Any suggestion on how to remove without damaging the pipe? The current intake is just pushed on.
